Book Week
This year’s theme for the annual Book Week for The Children’s Book Council of Australia was ‘Dreaming with eyes open…’
Every year, the CBCA holds a Book Week across Australia to promote the importance of reading and the joy that children can find in it. Schools, libraries, booksellers, authors, illustrators and children come together to celebrate Australian Literature in a whole host of events and parades. ISMS celebrated the event with a day full of fun and excitement, dressing up as our favourite book characters and reading stories aloud, exploring new texts, revisiting old favourites and participating in the book parade with our School community. It was wonderful to see all of our children and our staff getting involved in the fun. There was an array of amazing costumes, so many smiles, lots of laughter and books galore. Thank you to everyone involved!
